Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- Post-Graduate Degree in Geology/Applied Geology with at least 55% marks, OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute.
Additionally, candidates must have:
- Basic knowledge of Computer Applications as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules.
- Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both
Salary / Pay Scale
- For the first 5 years: ₹49,600/- fixed monthly pay.
- After completion of 5 years (based on performance): ₹39,900 – ₹1,26,600/- (Level-7, 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix).

Total Marks: 210 | Duration: 3 Hours | Negative Marking: ¼ per wrong answer
Part A – Aptitude & Reasoning (60 Marks)
- Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation – 30 Marks
- Quantitative Aptitude – 30 Marks
Part B – General & Subject Knowledge (150 Marks)
- Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension – 30 Marks
- Subject Related (Geology / Applied Geology / Mining Engineering) – 120 Marks
- Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each part (A & B) to qualify.
- Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of written exam marks and reservation norms.
